Svebor

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Svebor is a martial art from Serbia , created by Predrag "Bata" Milošević. It invokes traditional fighting techniques from Serbia.

Predrag Milošević, the initiator of Svebor, is himself a Dan holder in Aikido . Together with other martial artists, he created Svebor, which is supposed to combine local fighting techniques with those from the Far East . Svebor was first presented to the public in 1995 . Outside Serbia, there are currently Svebor schools in Australia , Russia and Switzerland , primarily among the Serbs living there . In Milošević's view, his combat system should be a domestic answer to the Far Eastern martial arts. The national identity is strongly emphasized. You hit with your hands, feet and head. There are terms such as Danga , Dandara , Šljaga , Žandarmski (gendarme blow ), Čekić (hammer) etc. Danga is a short punch from below into the upper body, like an uppercut, Dandara, on the other hand, is a swing. You can also train with a stick, saber and knife. In the meantime the Svebor Association has split up into the Svebor Association of Serbia under Milošević, and the Svebor Association of Belgrade under a former employee of Milošević.
