Svenskt näringsliv
Svenskt näringsliv (dt. Swedish economy ) is the Swedish employers' association and at the same time the interest group of the economy.
Svenskt näringsliv was formed in 2001 and is an umbrella organization that represents around 55,000 companies in 51 professional and interest groups. Predecessor organizations were the employers' association SAF ( Svenska Arbetsgivareföreningen ) founded in 1902 and the industrial interest group Sveriges Industriförbund, founded in 1912 .
The aim of Svenskt näringsliv is to perceive and promote the general, ideal and economic interests of its members through information, opinion-forming and development projects. Important areas of work are employer and labor market issues, tax issues, EU and international trade as well as energy and environmental issues.
However, only the member organizations are active as employer representatives in the context of social partnership negotiations, not the umbrella organization.
The highest decision-making body is the General Assembly, the members of which are appointed by the various member organizations. The board currently consists of 61 members, of which 12 members and the chairman are elected by the general assembly, while the others are delegated by the member organizations. The board in turn elects the general director and the working committee.
