The Swedish National Space Agency ( SNSA , Swedish Rymdstyrelsen ) is a government agency of the Swedish Ministry of Education and Research. It has around 20 employees and an office in the city of Solna near Stockholm .

One of the main tasks of the SNSA is distributing government funds to be used for research in space. In 2012 the SNSA had around 700 million Swedish kronor (around 80 million euros) at its disposal; In 2019 it was around 1100 million Swedish kronor (approx. 100 million euros). At least until 2015, around 70 percent of the funds were provided by the Ministry of Enterprise, Energy and Communications.

An important aspect is the cooperation on international projects with the ESA . Around 65 percent of the funds should be used for this between 2011 and 2015. There is also a collaboration with NASA . The SNSA has been headed by Anna Rathsman since 2018.
