Swiss Payments Council

The Swiss Payments Council (SPC) is the coordination body of Swiss credit institutions for payment transactions and the introduction of the European Payments Area .

This governance body for the Swiss financial center for payment transactions is carried out by the Board of Directors of Swiss Interbank Clearing AG . The organization identifies and prioritizes issues in connection with bank money payments in all forms that are important for the Swiss financial center at national and international level. Its scope also extends to standardization work (development, introduction, adaptation or abolition of standardizations). In this environment, it is authorized to issue guidelines for the implementation of necessary measures. The SPC also influences other Swiss payment transaction bodies, their structure, work content and guidelines.
