The SIX Interbank Clearing AG (until November 2008: Swiss Interbank Clearing AG), headquartered in Zurich , is a subsidiary of SIX Group .

On behalf of the Swiss National Bank, SIX Interbank Clearing has been operating a payment transaction platform for processing national and international payments ( clearing ) in Swiss francs since 1987 and, since the introduction of the euro, also payments in euros. Practically all Swiss financial institutions and numerous banks outside Switzerland are connected to this platform - it includes the interbank payment systems SIC for francs and euroSIC for euros. This enables financial institutions worldwide to process their electronic payment transactions in Swiss francs and euros with Switzerland around the clock in real time.

In association with the main players in the Swiss financial center, SIX Interbank Clearing provides other important services in payment transactions. This includes, for example, the daily updating of the institute's master data. In addition, through their participation in various committees , it and the Swiss Payments Council promote standardization in national and international payment transactions , in particular with the international bank account number (IBAN) and the European Payments Area (SEPA).
