Synagogue in Tukums (2008)

The synagogue in Tukums (German Tuckum ), a city in western Latvia , was built in 1866. The secular synagogue with the address Elizabetes, 8 was rebuilt after the Second World War .

With the attack on the Soviet Union on June 22, 1941, the entire territory of Latvia came under the control of National Socialist Germany until July 8, 1941. This began the annihilation of almost all of the local Jewish population.

On the gable of the building, three round arches and three round windows remind of its use as a synagogue.
