Synagogue (Višegrad)

The synagogue in Višegrad in the northeast of Bosnia and Herzegovina was built in 1904/05. The synagogue was built according to plans by the architect Kuning.

Before 1941, the proportion of the Jewish population in Višegrad was high. The vast majority of the Jewish population was murdered during the Holocaust .

After the Second World War , the synagogue building was converted into a fire station . Since 2013 a memorial plaque has been commemorating the former synagogue.
