The synagogue in Ahrensburg was built in 1822 near the castle church. In 1939 it was sold and then demolished.

synagogue

A prayer room already existed in a private house before 1822. Approx. In 1822 the community built a synagogue. It was a small thatched building. The prayer room, which was located at the back of the building, was divided into an area for men and an area for women by a wooden wall. After the community was officially dissolved in the late 1920s, the synagogue was also given up. In 1939 it was sold and later demolished. Today there is again a prayer room in Ahrensburg. It is located in the community center of the newly founded Jewish community in 2003.
