The synagogue in Homel , the second largest Belarusian city ​​in Homelskaya Woblasz , was built between 1828 and 1833.

Many Jewish citizens lived in Homel, 29% of the population in 1939, the majority of whom were murdered by the German occupiers during the Holocaust . The synagogue was destroyed during this time.

The synagogue in the classicism style was built for the Orthodox community.
