The Syrian National Resistance (SNR), German  Syrian National Resistance ( Arabic المقاومة الوطنية السورية al-Muqawama al-Wataniya as-Suriya ) is an officially independent political coalition, which is active in northern Syria and Aleppo and both the Syrian ruling party Baath , and with the Democratic Forces of Syria is allied.

The leader of the SNR, Rezan Hedo, is an independent member of the Syrian Democratic Council. The SNR describes itself as a “predominantly Kurdish government unit”.

The SNR is fighting alongside the government troops against the Turkish military operation " Euphrates Shield ". It was founded on September 6, 2016 in Tell Rifat . Your armed arm is the Kafr Saghir Martyrs Brigade.

The ideology of the SNR can generally be described as anti-Turkish and anti- Sunni . However, he claims to have nothing to do with the People's Defense Units (YPG), the Democratic Unity Party (PYD) or the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). However, the presence of former PYD officials in the ranks of the SNR has been confirmed. Proximity to the PKK is disputed, also with reference to the fact that it is classified internationally as a terrorist organization .
