Tímarit Máls og menningar (German = magazine for language and culture) is an Icelandic literary magazine that was founded in 1940 by Kristinn E. Andrésson , who ran it for the first 30 years.

The phrase Mál og menning comes from the Heimskringla . After that, the editors of the magazine Rauðir pennar (dt. = Red Feathers), which was discontinued in 1938, named the literary society Mál og Menning , which published the successor magazine Tímarit Máls og menningar .
