Description of the area

The extensive natural monument to the north-west of the village center, designated on April 3, 1987, is located on Schiffsleidingsweg , which gives it its name, entirely in the area of ​​the municipality of Upgant-Schott , which in turn is part of the joint municipality of Brookmerland . The landscape protection area consists of a still water body similar to a kolkä within agricultural areas. In the opinion of the Aurich district, it is particularly valuable due to the presence of crab claws and as spawning water for amphibians.
