TS Ashton Prize

The TS Ashton Prize (English: TS Ashton Prize ) is a science award in economics . The biennial award was made in a will by the British economic historian Thomas Southcliffe Ashton , who died in 1968 , and is awarded by the Economic History Society .

The award is aimed in particular at young scholars in the field of economic history; it recognizes exceptional contributions that have appeared in the publication organ of the Economic History Review in the two years preceding the award . Candidates may complete their Ph.D. in a maximum of the five years prior to the award. -Title or have not previously made any contribution in this or a related scientific field. The prize, which was initially awarded annually in 1972, was endowed with 1,500 pounds in 2011 .
