The Turkish Air Force has a need for around 70 of these training aircraft to replace the aging 70 Northrop T-38s currently in service ; the aircraft is also to be exported.
technology
A fly-by-wire control system, a fire control system , a radar and the ability to refuel in the air are planned . Originally the General Electric F404 engine was planned, but as the American- Turkish relationship in the armaments industry has cooled down, a Eurojet EJ200 is now to be used.
