TFT display is an abbreviation for:

  • Thin-film transistor display, display with thin -film transistor control, was only used for appropriately controlled liquid crystal displays (LCDs) until around 2010 .
  • Since then, thin-film transistor displays can also be flat screens with thin -film transistor control of organic light-emitting diodes , often referred to as AMOLEDs (Active-Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diodes).

The thin film transistor control of displays is the basis of active matrix displays .
