TG Arminia Bielefeld

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The TG Arminia Bielefeld (full name: Turngemeinde Arminia Bielefeld e.V. ) was created in 1919 through the merger of the 1st Bielefelder FC Arminia with the Bielefelder Turngemeinde in 1848 and existed until the club was dissolved in 1922. The club gained national fame by participating in the final round of the German soccer championship in 1922 . The association DSC Arminia Bielefeld , which exists today, continues the tradition of the predecessor associations BFC Arminia and TG Arminia, but is a legally independent new establishment.

successes

In the 1920/21 season, the gymnastics community became champions of the eastern group of the Westfalengau district league, but was not allowed to compete in the final of the Westphalia championship against Preußen Münster , as the Bielefeld team had used a non-eligible player in their championship games. In the following season 1921/22, the gymnastics community, as champions of the Gauliga Westphalia, benefited from the deployment of an opponent who was not entitled to play by the Cologne BC 01 and thus ended the final round of the West German association championship after a large number of protests and rescheduled repeat games in first place. The gymnastics community thus took part in the final round of the German soccer championship 1921/22 . Here, however, the team lost in the quarter-finals to FC Wacker Munich in Karlsruhe with 0: 5 goals.
