TRIPOS ( TRI vial P ortable O perating S ystem ) was an operating system that was developed at Cambridge University and programmed in BCPL . Both the kernel and the device drivers are written in assembly language.
The AmigaDOS - a component of the AmigaOS - is also based on TRIPOS. The portable TRIPOS kernel was adapted to AmigaDOS by Tim King , who transferred the rights to commercial exploitation of TRIPOS to MetaComCo , Ltd. brought in.
