Turn- und Sportverein Moselfeuer Lehmen is a football club from Lehmen in the district of Mayen-Koblenz .

history

On August 3, 1912, 24 active gymnasts, gymnasts and pupils gathered in the Remy Inn and founded the Lehmen gymnastics club. It wasn't until a good 20 years later, on January 22, 1933, that a football club was founded within the gymnastics club.

In the post-war period, all gymnastics clubs were banned. Therefore, in 1948, the revived club called "Sportverein Lehmen". Two years later, football took on an increasingly decisive role. In 1953 the championship in the 2nd district class Lower Mosel could be celebrated.

Football is becoming more and more popular, so that the first youth team can be registered for the new season. In 1958, the 1st team had to withdraw from the game due to lack of comradeship.

In 1963, the new sports field was inaugurated and one year later, Klaus Wahner, the first licensed soccer coach, was hired. In 1968 the team, meanwhile under the new coach Helmut Michael, was again champion in the 2nd district class and thus achieved promotion.

After the new division of the classes in 1977, the team rose to A-class. 1980 was the most successful year in the club's history. Under the direction of their trainer Erwin Henn, the 1st team becomes district champion and thus moves up to the district class.

This championship is overshadowed by the team's success in cup competition. The team qualified for the finals in the DFB Cup 1980/81 . In the first round she met the professional team from Kickers Offenbach . Although the game in Plaidt ends with 15: 1 for the five classes higher playing club, this day will be the absolute highlight for players and members.

However, the club could not build on the previous years and rose in 1982 from the district class and three years later again. In the following years it went down to the 2nd district class.

The soccer department has been playing as SG Löf / Lehmen / Hatzenport since 2007 after entering into a syndicate with SV Hatzenport-Löf.
