TTCN

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

TTCN is a domain-specific programming language for testing of communication protocols . It is supported by the ITU-T maintained and in their recommendations ( Recommendations standardized). The current standard is TTCN-3 , but TTCN-2 is still widely used in industry, so that we can speak of two current standards.

TTCN-2

The acronym TTCN stands for Tree and Tabular Combined Notation , which indicates the notation used in trees and tables. It is defined in: ITU-T Recommendation X.292, OSI conformance testing methodology and framework for protocol Recommendations for ITU-T applications - The Tree and Tabular Combined Notation (TTCN), 1998

TTCN-3

According to the authors' wishes, the new name is Testing and Test Control Notation . This name corresponds more to the purpose of the language, and the syntax has already been changed so that the old name no longer applies without further ado. Their definition can be found in: ITU-T Recommendation Z.140, The Tree and Tabular Combined Notation version 3 ( TTCN-3 ): Core Language, 2001
