Tab (dice game)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tab is the name of an ancient Arabic game of skill.

description

In this game, depending on the variation, stones and different colored palm sticks were collected. The player whose turn it is throws them against a board or against a wall, which leaves them lying on top of each other in a pile. The colors of the palm sticks then show the player which sticks he has to collect to win the game without touching the other palm sticks and stones.

Tab is played in smaller rounds.

history

The origin of this game is on the Arabian Peninsula. It spread to the north and west in the Middle Ages, and this game was very popular in Egypt in the High Middle Ages. These days, the game is no longer very common on gaming tables.
