Tabletop photography
The term table photograph or tabletop photography ( . Engl tabletop "tabletop") refers to a special case of the still life - Photography . In the simplest case, objects are arranged on a table top, but in the ( semi ) professional area they are arranged on special shooting tables that can be equipped with neutral (pure white or semi-transparent) backgrounds, for example. More or less complex lighting devices also allow the - usually desirable - shadow-free illumination of the objects.
The tabletop photography has always played a prominent role in the product photography and thus in the advertising in the broadest sense.
In the past mostly only known to specialist photographers, it is inevitably also used by an increasing number of amateurs due to the upswing of online auction houses , as it is particularly important here to create meaningful product photos, which are often decisive for sales success.
