A Tactical Operations Center ( TOC ) is a command post for mostly military operations. A TOC typically consists of a small group of specially trained officers or officers in the military who lead the members of an active tactical element during a mission.

Furnishing

Most stationary tactical operations centers are very technical and contain a number of computer systems that are used to monitor operational progress and communicate with the units in an area. One of the most famous TOCS is NORAD (North American Air and Space Defense Command).

TOC officers are usually connected to the units by means of line-of-sight communication . TOCs typically have multiple wall-mounted screens, e.g. B. serve to observe units in action, as well as intercom systems, which are used for the coordination of tactical elements.

Smaller TOCs can be created in the hold of a van or truck (see SWAT ), as well as in tents and buildings by setting up computers and networking telecommunications equipment.
