Missing Children's Day

The Missing Children's Day is since 1983 on May 25 committed. US President Ronald Reagan chose the day to commemorate six-year-old Etan Patz , who disappeared on the way to school on May 25, 1979 and whose fate remained unexplained for decades. Only in May 2015 was an accused arrested and sentenced in February 2017.

In 2002, Remembrance Day was introduced in Europe. Since 2003 it has been organized by the parents' initiative for missing children in Germany , currently together with the White Ring . Since 2015, the day of remembrance has also been carried out by the “Missing Children Find Hannover-Wittenberg”.
