Play offers during day holidays in the Munich district

Day holidays are a form of childcare . It is a care offer aimed at school-age children during the school holidays . Most of the time, day holidays have a central theme and the children usually commit to at least one week. However, there are also offers that can be booked on a daily basis.

Day holidays are related to leisure time or holiday camps . In contrast, the children spend the evening, night and weekends at home. Day vacations are thus an inexpensive alternative to camps that involve travel and warehouse rental or camping fees.

Day holidays are offered by leisure organizations, churches or tourism providers such as hotels or adventure farms. There are offers that are subsidized by the state, similar to day-care centers .

Day holidays outside the tourism industry are currently still a rather new form of care (as of 2007). In principle, however, this form of care is necessary in connection with the topic of reconciling family and work and the increasing tendency of women to be employed, especially since school holidays are usually much longer than the vacation weeks granted in the world of work.
