Typhoon Nina

The Typhoon Nina , the Philippines Bebeng called, was a tropical cyclone which occurred in August 1975th In the central Chinese province of Henan, 62 dams failed, including the Banqiao Dam and the Shimantan Dam on August 7, 1975. 26,000 (according to other sources up to 85,000) people died as a result of the flood. Another 145,000 were killed in the famine that broke out as a result of the typhoon.

The organization Human Rights Watch made the disaster in 1995 public.
