List of extreme weather events worldwide

The list of weather events worldwide gives an overview of extreme weather events designated as storms , including natural disasters (damaging events) of historical importance. The names are assigned according to national customs, see Assigning names for weather events . For the European area there is the list of weather events in Europe .
