Takashi Atōda
Takashi Atōda ( Japanese 阿 刀 田 高 , Atōda Takashi ; born January 13, 1935 ) is a Japanese writer who was chairman of the Japanese PEN center from 2007 to 2011 .
Atōda made his debut as a writer in 1953 at the age of eighteen and has since emerged as the author of an extensive work of mystery literature . He also wrote science fiction stories. In 1979 he was awarded the Naoki Prize for Napporeon kyō . A collection of his short stories in English translation was published in 1993 under the title The Square Persimmon and Other Stories .
