Taqqanot

Taqqanot (also Takkanot ) denote ordinances, regulations or institutions / institutions in Judaism that were introduced over time, in the narrower sense those after the end of the Talmudic period.

They encompass and regulate religious, moral, social, educational and tax issues of the Jewish population, especially in the diaspora , and were and are punishable, with fines, bans or exclusion from the community coming into play.
