description
The talawang is usually made of wood . It resembles the Kliau in form . The outer sides are slightly curved outwards, the upper and lower ends are pointed. The shield is V-shaped in cross-section. The outside is reinforced with rattan struts to prevent splintering. The main difference is that the traditional paintings on the outside of the Talawang always show a demon's head .
