The Taman languages form a branch of the Malayo-Polynesian languages within the Austronesian languages . The language group includes two to three individual languages spoken in Kalimantan : Mbalo (or Embaloh, including Kalis) and Taman (Taman Dayak). The classification of the language group is unclear. Adelaar and Himmelmann (2005) rank them among the South Sulawesian languages and bring them close to the Buginese language .
