Tandem master cylinder

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The tandem master cylinder is a component of the brake system of every car or truck . Since a dual-circuit brake system is required by law, the brake circuits must also function independently of one another. This is ensured by the tandem master cylinder. It sits directly under the brake fluid expansion tank and supplies each brake circuit with it. If one brake circuit fails, it ensures the supply of the second circuit without completely emptying the expansion tank.
