The Tartu Big Diamonds were a professional ice hockey team from Tartu , Estonia , whose home games were played in Tartu Lõunakeskus . The team was founded in 2007 and plays for one season in the Latvian ice hockey league . The team also took part in the Estonian cup competition.
The coach of the team was the Latvian Leonīds Beresņevs , who was already the coach of the Latvian national ice hockey team . The first game in the club's history took place on August 6, 2007 in Narva. The friendly game against Eesti Noortekoondis ended 20-2 for the Big Diamonds.
The club was dissolved in summer 2008 due to financial problems.
