Tavastia (Club)
Tavastia is a live rock music club in Helsinki , Finland . It has a capacity of 700 people.
The building in the central Kamppi district was built in 1931 as the headquarters of the Hämäläis-Osakunta student association . The members of the association come from the historical landscape of Häme (Latin: Tavastia). The Hämis dance hall was set up on the first floor . In 1970 the room was converted to the rock club Tavastia, the upper floors are still occupied by the student association. The club has established itself as a venue for all types of rock music and, more rarely, other styles of music.
Since 1993 there has been the smaller Club Semifinal in the basement of the building , which can be reached via a separate entrance. Small concerts with young or local bands take place there with a capacity of up to 150 people.
