Taylor factor

The Taylor factor is a geometric factor that takes the place of the Schmid factor in polycrystalline materials . In face-centered cubic material, its value is 3.1. It is used to calculate the influence of different hardening mechanisms that influence the critical shear stress on the yield stress :
