Technology carrier

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A technology carrier is a physical object that is equipped with modern technology (usually information and communication technology ) in addition to its actual, classic use . It thus becomes a “computerized” or “informatized” object.

Technology carriers can be made up of components that are themselves technology carriers. Everyday objects are equipped with microprocessors and / or new technology and thus significantly improved. If these objects accompany us and become omnipresent, we speak of ubiquitous computing .

Examples

  • Vehicles are technology carriers for on-board computers, navigation aids, lane assistance assistants, parking assistants, distance cruise control, night vision devices, traffic sign assistants, etc.
  • Pens serve as a technology carrier for handwriting recognition systems.
  • Clothing serves as a technology carrier for ubiquitous computing / wearable computing solutions .
  • Tweezers serve as a technology carrier for solutions in mechoptronics .
