The Teichsmühle is a listed watermill in Soest and the oldest documented mill in the city. Today it houses, among other things, an information office for tourists.

The current building dates from 1654, i.e. from the time immediately after the Thirty Years' War , in which the previous building was destroyed. In 1938 it was redesigned and expanded in the style of homeland security architecture during the National Socialist dictatorship under government builder Schlipf .

The mill was first mentioned in a document in the 13th century, and since 1253 it has belonged to the patrol monastery . In the second half of the 13th century, the large pond was also dammed as a water reservoir for the mill. One of the special features of the city of Soest is that several water mills could be operated within the city walls. As early as the 14th century there were six spring-powered mills in the city.
