Telxius is an international telecommunications infrastructure company founded in 2016 by the Spanish Telefónica group. Telxius has a total of 30,000 cell phone masts in five countries (Spain, Germany, Brazil, Peru and Chile) as well as a network of submarine cables that includes, for example, the SAm-1 and Marea cables .
Telxius was founded on February 10, 2016. From May there was speculation about an IPO, but this was canceled on September 30, 2016 due to insufficient demand.
On February 20, 2017, Telefónica sold 40% of Telxius to the US subsidiary KKR . The purchase price was 1.275 billion euros.
