Temennu
Temennu is the Sumerian - Akkadian term for founding charter / founding capsule and is also called the sacred founding stone. The word originally comes from the Sumerian temen as the title for sacred area . The Sumerian , Akkadian , Assyrian and Babylonian kings mostly used the holy stone with a founding inscription when building new buildings or restoring sanctuaries.
