Tengchong volcano group
The Tengchong volcanic group ( Chinese 腾冲 火山 群 , Pinyin Tengchong huoshanqun , English Tengchong volcanic field ) comprises a 600 square kilometer volcanic field with 97 volcanoes in Tengchong in the Chinese province of Yunnan on the border with Burma ( Myanmar ). It is located in the Tengchong Volcano and Geotherm National Geopark 腾冲 国家 地质 公园 / Tengchong Dire Huoshan National Park (or Tengchong Geotherm and Volcano) 腾冲 地 热 火山 国家 公园. According to the records of the famous Chinese traveler Xu Xiake , the last eruption of Dayingshan is said to have occurred in 1609.
