Tengthing

Tengthing is a double-headed tubular drum , the body of which can be made of hardwood or of soft wood. It is used in northern Thailand .

The two eardrums are made of cow skin. The tengthing is used as one of the percussion instruments in processions , during festive occasions such as the ordination of monks, temple markets, thet mahachat and funerals.
