Appointment management

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In order to achieve a timely completion of a project, the processes of appointment management are used in project management . For many companies, the timely completion of a project is an important goal. On the one hand, this comes from possible contractual delivery obligations, and on the other hand, the product benefits of the product created in the project naturally only come into effect at the end of the project.

The PMBOK guide provides five main processes for this:

Definition of the processes
Determination of the necessary processes for the creation of the defined delivery items. In simple projects, the next step - defining the sequence of operations - is often done implicitly.
Determination of the sequence of operations
In addition to the apparent order of the project activities, all types of relationships between the project activities are specified.
Estimation of the process duration
The duration (work) per process is estimated.
Development of the schedule
If the effort for the individual processes is available and a resource plan has been created, then the overall project schedule can be created. Due to operational necessities, the end date for a project is often fixed before the start, so that the resource planning must be adjusted accordingly.
Control of the schedule
The control deals with the monitoring of times and milestones during project execution.
