Texas Cyclone in Six Flags AstroWorld ( Houston , Texas , USA ) was a wooden roller coaster made by Frontier Construction Company and designers Don Rosser and William Cobb , which opened on June 12, 1976. She did her last laps on October 30, 2005, before the park was closed.
First, the park wanted to buy the Cyclone from Coney Island and move it to their park, as it was in danger of being dismantled at the time. Then AstroWorld decided to hire William Cobb to design and build a mirror image of the Cyclones.
Texas Cyclone was the only roller coaster built by the Frontier Construction Company .
