24 hour run

The members of a relay run different tracks one after the other. The start takes place on Saturday at 9 a.m. as a mass start of the first runner of each team. The change of runners is basically the same as in the conventional relay orienteering race . The first runner changes to the second, this to the third and so on. The sixth runner changes back to the first. The finish line closes on Sunday at 9 a.m. Crossings after the finish line are not taken into account. The winner is the team with the highest number of correctly completed lanes. If the number of correctly completed courses is the same, the point in time at which this number is reached will determine the placement. The change runners are called by radio, usually one minute before the change. The change is made by handshake in the change room. After changing and completing the “compulsory start route”, the card is withdrawn automatically in the card issuing department. In the event that an orienteering track has not been run correctly (e.g. failure to provide proof of post, incorrect start-up order of posts), this will not be counted for the evaluation of the respective team. The runner whose run was not counted may continue to start for his team; it remains in the rating. The following restrictions apply to the composition of a team:

  • Each team must consist of six runners.
  • At least two women / girls belong to the team.
  • A maximum of three men from classes H19-34 belong to the team.

12 hour run

For runners who do not dare to go into the forest at night despite the easy tracks, there is the framework category "12 hours open". In contrast to the 24-hour orienteering, the following rules apply in this category:

  • Each team can consist of two to six runners.
  • Age, gender and starting order of the team members are optional.
  • The mass start is on Saturday at 9 a.m. together with the 24-hour orienteering.
  • The finish line closes on Saturday at 9 p.m.

4-hour youth relay

In 2017, a season for starters under D / H 16 was offered for the first time.
