The Adventurer (literary magazine)

The Adventurer was a literary magazine published in London .

It comprised a total of 140 issues from November 7, 1752 to March 9, 1754.

The author John Hawkesworth (approx. 1715–1773) provided the vast majority of the contributions . Even Samuel Johnson , Richard Bathurst and Joseph Warton made contributions. A German partial translation appeared in 1776 under the title Der Abentheurer in 66 numbers.

A new edition appeared in four volumes in 1774 ( The Adventurer. A new edition. 4 vols. London 1774).
