The Atomic Bitchwax is a stoner rock band that was founded around 1992 by Chris Kosnik, Ed Mundell (ex- Monster-Magnet ) and Keith Ackermann.
Her style of music with a deep guitar sound and energetic riffs is shaped by 1970s psychedelic rock . The Atomic Bitchwax's music is often referred to as retro rock.
The Atomic Bitchwax was initially a side project of the three members.
Chris Kosnik and Keith Ackermann later saw The Atomic Bitchwax as no longer just a second project, and guitarist Ed Mundell was replaced by Finn Ryan in 2005.
Ed Mundell continued to deal mainly with Monster Magnet , as he had too little time for The Atomic Bitchwax due to their extensive European and USA tours. Mundell left Monster Magnet in 2010.
Besides Atomic Bitchwax, Bob Pantella also plays in his main band Monster Magnet .
The Atomic Bitchwax carried out an extensive European tour in spring or summer in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.
In April 2015 the band released their sixth album Gravitron , which contains ten songs. The band also went on a three-week European tour in April / May 2015. In 2017 the follow-up album Force Field was published.
On the European tour in 2018, Finn Ryan was replaced by Garrett Sweeny, who, like Bob Pantella and Chris Kosnik, also plays for Monster Magnet.
