The Basin is a bay in the northeast of Rottnest Island , which is part of the Australian state of Western Australia . It is a popular place for swimming.

The Basin is 330 feet wide and 80 feet deep. It opens to the north. To the east of the bay is Pinky Beach and to the west is Longreach Bay .
The bay has a 220 meter long, publicly accessible sandy beach.
