The Britannia and Montevideo reporter was a newspaper in Uruguay .

The English language press was founded by foreigners living in Montevideo , many of whom were exiled there due to violent persecution by Rosas . The newspaper served to represent their interests and should support the fight against Rosas. The newspaper's motto was: "Coellum non animun mutat". The office of The Britannia and Montevideo Reporter was in "Calle del Portón". The paper first appeared on June 4, 1842 and henceforth once a week. In terms of content, the newspaper dealt with local news, the announcement of government decrees of the Gobierno de la Defensa and news from England. A single edition cost 250 rice . Three patacones were required for the quarterly subscription.
