The Call (religious group)

As The Call is one of called Lou Engle in the US religious organization founded by evangelical - Pentecostal properties. Their priority activities are mass evangelism , public prayer meetings, and music concerts. According to their own information, this community includes several hundred thousand people worldwide. The Call exists in numerous countries.

The community is characterized by an enormous zeal for mission . In Germany, workshops were held as part of holiday camps for young people. The main purpose of these holiday camps was to guide the participants to lead a life that was true to the Bible and to encourage the young people to become missionaries . The founder and head of the German branch, Ben-Rainer Krause , names this training of young people as missionaries in a report as one of the main goals of his work.

In the USA, Lou Engle officially closed The Call in January 2004, the offices are closed and the American website has been temporarily taken offline. At the same time, Engle founded the successor organization The Cause . While The Call focused primarily on fasting and prayer, The Cause pursues a more active avenue of political influence , particularly in the fight against same-sex marriage and the right to abortion .
