The Departure

The Departure is an indie rock band from Northampton .

In February 2004 The Departure had their first appearance in a pub in Northampton . After their second appearance, they recorded their first demo in London and brought many A&R men to their third appearance in Northampton. They signed a record deal with Parlophone and quickly achieved considerable success. They performed six months after their first appearance at the Reading Festival . At the time, her single All Mapped Out was already in the UK's top 30.

On February 17, 2006 the guitarist Lee Irons left the band. Then drummer Andy Hobsen was replaced by founding member Simon Alexander.

The recording of the second album Inventions was completed in early 2008. But disagreements with the record company Parlophone caused the quartet to break up.

Singer David Jones and guitarist Sam Harvey are working on a new project in mid-2008.
