The Edsels were an American doo-wop group in the late 1950s and early 1960s.

Band history

The name of the group was originally The Essos , after the oil company , but was renamed to the Edsel (a car brand of the Ford Motor Company, which was marketed 1957-1960). The Edsels have recorded over 25 songs and made several appearances on the American Bandstand show for Dick Clark . The Edsels were one of the few doo-wop groups that were signed to a major record company ( Capitol Records ) at the time. The group is known almost exclusively for their song Rama Lama Ding Dong . Other titles were Do You Love Me? and What Brought Us Together? .
